the game now has a name, "waxweaver"! theres a lot of stuff in this update, some of which is currently a bit bland and still needs further development. I've decided that im going to cut the scope of the game back. I've already been working on this for a year, and I'm ready to move on to some other stuff. I still want this game to be good, of course, so I'm still gonna be spending the next couple months making sure this game is as good as it can be. Right now I'm cutting ship flying and travelling to other planets. It's taken a lot of time just to make ONE planet that's interesting enough to explore, making a few others would easily balloon how much time the game will take to finish. Plus, the way everything is currently setup, there's nothing going on in space, nor is it possible to add anything without major rewrites. Because of this, even though it FEELS cooler, ship flying is functionally no different than games like starbound, and I don't like that. So for now, im sticking to one singular planet and just doing a totally free release on newgrounds. Because of this though, I want to add MORE than I planned to the single planet, and this update lays some of the foundation for that. Right now there are 4 new biomes, desert, snow, moss, and amethyst. The desert and snow are really really bland right now though, and there isnt much reason to go there.

- Added mimics, a rare enemy that will drop trinket items
- mimics will only spawn if the player has opened at least 1 chest
- Added the underground moss biome!
- Orange orbs found here can be used to craft magical items
- Added the desert biome! It's pretty empty right now
- Added the snowy biome! It's also pretty empty right now
- Added cactus
- Added the mini amethyst biome u can find at the center of the world!
- Added a bastard new enemy, the flaming skull
- Added bones and fertiziler that will age blocks.
- Core now has wacky little grass growing on it
- Added magic staffs of various types!
- Fireball staff, shoots bouncy fireballs that light up the dark and do a bit of damage
- Waterbolt staff, shoots a ball of water
- Zeus staff, try and guess what this one does
- Bounce staff, shoots a reflective bolt that increases in damage each bounce
- Added the magic infuser, a new crafting station used to make the new staffs
- Added a mana bar!
- Added "focused" status effect that gives 2x mana regen
- Added the slingshot! It will shoot any block.
- It must be found in a chest or by fishing !
- Added the "ladder pack", a block you can craft that places ladder lines for you
- Birds now have a chance to drop eggs, an early game food source
- Added 27 new vanity items for you to find
- Added wheat to farm!
- Added 4 new food items:
- Bread Slice
- Poached Egg
- Breakfast sandwich
- Magic Dinner
- Fireflies will now drop "Luminous Sacks"
- Added the "Familiar Locket" (it's just the magic mirror from terraria)
- New firefly jar blocks
- Added clay and bricks (and walls to go with)
- Added little puddles that sometimes spawn underground
- Added a button to open save file folder location (desktop only)
- Added a button to refresh save files on main menu (desktop only)
- Added an options menu to main menu and pause screen
- Added a web disclaimer to menu telling u to go download the game instead
- Added a tutorial thing to the menu to teach you the controls
Technical Changes:
- Birds now sit and hop around, waiting until they have line of sight to attack
- Spider behavior has changed to be more interesting
- Redid how enemy drop code works, so drop odds may have changed a little
- Changed glass sound effect so that it's no longer the minecraft one
- The game now saves your health
- The main menu is no longer loud whitebeard cock (now has placeholder music)
- Made enemy damage and killing noises more quiet
- Removed godot splash image
- Using previous command in command line now puts it in the text box instead of running it
- Uncraftable items will be shown by default so new players understand there are things to craft
- "fragile" status effect now has an icon
- Added additional icons to inventory to distinguish between slot types
- Adjusted boss platform generation code to work on planets of other sizes
- Grass will now very slowly regrow tall grass and occasionally natural potatoes
- Cheats must now be enabled by typing "cheats" first
- Added a loading message when generating new planet
- Fishing splash has been changed to be larger and more obvious
- Torches must now be clicked to individually to place
- Extended enemy spawning code to allow for biome specific spawning conditions
- Furnaces have a nice ambient sound now
- Nerfed iron sword just a bit
Bug Fixes:
- Finally fixed bug where walking around during the night would cause the daylight to still be visible
- Eating particles were affected by global gravity rather than planet gravity, this has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug that would make the enemy cap never be reached
- Fixed a duplication glitch involving breaking chests
- Fixed a bug where shooting your last arrow (so that you have none) and going to pick it up would crash the game
- Flashlight gave u 2x attack speed as well because i was testing something and forgot to change it back
- Glass breaking particles no longer look like that
- Forgetting the number on the zoom command will no longer send the message "zoom set to zoom"
- Game will no longer save previous command if command entered was empty
- Fixed bug where water wouldn't render if more than 1 water occupied a spot (could rarely occur naturally)
- Water on corners will no longer jump around all crazy (they still look a little weird though)
- You'll no longer spawn on trees and take fall damage
- Destroying a bed now resets your spawn back to the original spawnpoint
- Fixed some sort of crafting related crash idk
- Hopefully finally for real fixed enemies spawning way too much
- Right click would sometimes stick around when it wasn't supposed to, fixed.
